Is this more of a fall coat for chilly days rather then cold winter days?

Love this coat. Wonderful Fall/Spring coat for chilly days, even light cold days, because it is fleece lined. But it is not meant for heavy cold winter days.

How waterproof is it? I am looking for an actual rain coat.

This is a great raincoat too! Mine has worn his in the rain many many times (Seattle weather) and it has kept him dry and warm.

Are the hood of these kids rain jackets detachable?
