Yes, it rotates smoothly. I use it to store all the kids’ school supplies like crayons, color pencils etc. It’ s really easy for kids to use on their own.

Will the white bins easily split, yellow or discolor over time?

Never, it can be easily wiped clean for hygienic everyday use. Durable ABS plastic and wont easily become yellow.

What’s the measure of the desk organizer? Does it large enough to hold more than 100 colored pencils?

Yes, mine holds all my office supplies on desk. The diameter is 10inches, the 6 removable bins with center hole can hold much more than 100 pencils.
